MAINTENANCE & CARE
- Wait 24-48 hours before washing/sweating post installation.
- Do not go to bed with your hair wet or leave the bonds wet as this can make them slip.
- Avoid over styling the hair and high heat on or near the bond when blow drying/flatironing.
- When brushing the extensions, work from the bottom up, holding the section you are brushing at the base (near the bond) to avoid tension.
- Avoid brushing directly on the bond.
- As the extensions grow out, gently pull them apart from one another to avoid tangling.
- Use our Platinum Seamless products- shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioning spray. Mask as needed.
- Do not put oils/conditioner on or near the bond. Apply mid shaft down.

How long do micro link hair extensions last?
Up to 3 months. The finer/thinner your hair, the sooner extensions should be removed and repositioned to protect your natural hair during reinstallation.
Are Mirco links safe for fine/thin hair?
Our tape in system is best suited for fragile hair. However, Microlinks come second choice for those with fine hair. We will continually assess your hair during the process and often suggest switching to the tape in system over time.
What are some variables that can affect my overall cost?
- Your starting baseline length
- Your goals regarding volume and length
- The brand
- Smaller itip extensions are used for more fragile hair, so often, more bonds are needed, leading to longer installation time.
- The thicker your hair, the more hair extensions are needed to match the density, leading to longer installation time.
- A baseline of very short hair will need more itips. Due to the complexity of this job, this leads to long appointment times.
How often should I get touch-ups?
We do not offer move up only appointments as this can lead to Traction Alopecia. It is necessary to remove the extensions all the way and reposition them to new hair at your maintenance appointments. Although up to 2.5-3 months is average before needing maintenance, everyone is different based on the rate in which your hair grows. Fine or thinner hair needs removal/reinstallation as soon as 2 months.
Will my Microlink hair extensions fall out?
Our Microlink extensions technique and proper aftercare guidance, makes for a very secure attachment. With the right at-home care, they will stay in place until your maintenance appointment. Some loss of extensions (up to 5), especially when getting closer to maintenance time, is normal.
What is the difference between Microlink hair extensions and itip hair extensions?
Microlink, I-Tip, Microbead, and Nano Ring hair extensions are often used interchangeably, but they refer to different aspects of the method. ‘Microlink’ describes the technique, while ‘I-Tips’ refer to the individual hair extensions. ‘Microbeads’ are the small beads used to secure the I-Tips, and ‘Nano Rings’ are the tiniest version of these beads. Beads come in various sizes and colors to blend more seamlessly with your hair.
Can I just send a picture of my hair vs an in-person consultation?

While photos can help, they don’t always capture essential details with accuracy like color and density.
